Every criminal case in Harris County runs through one building: the Criminal Justice Center at 1201 Franklin, Houston, Texas 77002. Felony courts sit on floors 13 through 20. Misdemeanor courts sit on 8 through 11. The court number printed on your bond paperwork is what tells you which elevator to take, and the tables below turn that number into a floor, a judge, and a phone number that a human being answers.
Court coordinators are the people who set and reset your case. If you have a setting and a conflict, call the coordinator, not the judge and not the clerk. The District Clerk on the 3rd floor handles records and criminal filings, including copies of judgments. If you’re trying to find out whether someone is still in custody, the Sheriff’s inmate information line is at the bottom of this page.
Missing a setting is not a paperwork problem. The judge can forfeit your bond and issue a capias for your arrest, and getting that unwound costs more than showing up would have. If you have a court date at 1201 Franklin and no lawyer standing next to you, call Blass Law at (713) 664-4000. We are in this building every week.

Knowing the floor is the easy part. What happens on that floor depends on who is standing next to you, how well that person knows the prosecutor assigned to the court, and whether anyone has done the work on your case before the setting instead of in the hallway that morning. We try cases in these courtrooms and we know these judges.
Call Blass Law at (713) 664-4000 or contact us here. Bring your bond paperwork and your next setting date, and we will tell you what you are actually facing. If the setting is on a bond condition or a protective order violation, bring the order itself, because its exact wording decides most of those cases.
Court assignments, judges, and phone numbers verified against the Harris County District Courts (justex.net) and County Criminal Courts at Law (ccl.hctx.net) directories in September 2026. Benches change. Call the coordinator before you drive downtown.
